This weekend, recording, production, and marketing are wrapping up in anticipation of Rock or Something's ultimate release. By "ultimate," I mean "extreme." No, X-TREME, even. But seriously, this is what I've been procrastinating to do for like two years. It's a little sloppy, but as Hedwig of the Angry Inch put it, "It's what I've got to work with." I'm a sloppy girl, anyways.
IF YOU WANT THIS ALBUM, PLEASE E-MAIL ME (swampbiddy at gmail dot com) and we can figure something out. The packaging is scanned and printed from handmade art. Many will come with a unique little scrap of something for you to enjoy. Most of all, it's got my heart in it, each one. The songs are pretty awesome. $5 - $10 sliding scale.

Oh, sorry, I've been busy with medical school and such. Sadly, the guitar takes a backseat to biddies. But! I have a few options for recording, and it is well overdue. Rock or Something definitely needs to happen, and it must be before 2007 is over. So, 2008 release? I think we can swing that.

After I lived in Europe for a bit, my sister made a comic based on my adventures. I suggest you check that out.
In other news, songs are being written. I finally wrote a song about Hurricane Katrina. It might have some merit to it, but all-in-all, it's pretty ridiculous, which is the way I like both my women and my coffee. Last night, a few lyrics for a rap song about sewing popped in my head, and I have a feeling that will blossom soon enough.

07 Jan 2006 - Anti-Hoot Owl and Bear
Playing for my relatives on Christmas was fruitful, as I got them to buy CDs and DVDs. Then I had to explain to Grandma why one of my songs is about going to jail.
Leaving one new town (Orleans) and arriving in another (York), I played the Sidewalk Cafe's Antihootenany for the very first time. It was a success, mostly because it felt very good to play, especially for people I admire, but also, they actually liked what I played. The Bill Nye song went over well. Then I met awesome people. I wish I lived in the City. I'll be back soon, though.
Oh, yeah, got a MySpace now.
Also, I've decided that the cover art for my next album (whenever the hell that will be) will revolve around this, my favorite Southern trend of the moment, the Meal, Ready-to-Eat. I think the proposed title, evident from the picture, will describe my music perfectly:

Highway Workers: Give 'em a BRAKE. That's what the signs read. I have no interesting commentary to otherwise give on that subject, but I will inform you that this website is growing by the hour, like a fairly slow bacterial population. It's well beyond its log phase, however, which occured between the hours of like 7pm and 2am last night. It was a whirlwind of productivity and creation. I'm glad. I'm sure my career will take off now--oh, wait, rockaroll is not my career. My career is veterinary medicine. Oops!
